Baile Meadhonach submitted by Skryabin : Ruined burial cairn at Baile Meadhonach, Arran (Vote or comment on this photo)
Chambered Cairn in Arran (Argyll). On left bank of small stream running out of Loch Garbad. Cairn portals and two chambers can be clearly seen. Evidence of semi-circular facade. Some outlying stones mostly turf covered. In damaged condition. More easily seen from the track to Loch Garbad now that forest has been felled.

Site location on map is in the forested bit, impossible to access through impenetrable jungle.
So maybe the pictures are of the other cairn marked on map. or the map has the wrong location.
The stones in the other photos are over the small beck up the hill a bit. It was disappointing to walk all that way and not find it. It’s all pretty rough ground and illustrates how destructive the forestry has been. Possibly the ground cover in Neolithic/BA was birch and alder.
