Giant's Graves (Isle of Arran)
Giant's Graves (Isle of Arran) submitted by tsujigiri : First shot from behind the site. The day was a bit rainy off and on and the overcast sky made the lighting a bit iffy for my digital camera. The climb up was very invigorating and well worth the effort. Unfortuneately, I neglected to get a shot from the front of the main site. Maybe next time I'm up there. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Two Chambered Cairns in Arran

Tsujigiri wrote: Access is not actually resricted, but it is a hefty climb to get up there, though no land rover is necissary. Site looks to be in excellent condition with the exception of some scratched in grafiti on one of the stones.

Giant's Graves (Isle of Arran)
Giant's Graves (Isle of Arran) submitted by tsujigiri : Not a picture of the site itself, but about 200 yards away from it, there was a stretch of forest path where it felt quite eerie. All the shots taken on this path turned out the same (there were 3). It's probably that the path was rather dim and the digital camera switched to a low light mode, but still..... I visited this site in Nov 2011 and the surrounding woodlands described above have completely gone; it was Forrestry Commission woodland and it has all been harvested. Instead the site has an unrestricted and quite spectacular view out over Lamlash Bay, Holy Isle and the Firth of Clyde, which is I am pretty sure how it must have been when the tomb was built here.
