Dun in Isle of Bute
Canmore site 40300
Dun Burgidale was built on the end of a small spur 350m northwest of the summit of Creag na Buidsich and commands extensive views over much of the north end of Bute and to the sea beyond.
It is a sub-circular dun measuring 18.0m by 14.5m within a partially turf-covered stone wall up to 5.5m wide and 3.0m high, which may have been galleried. The outer face is visible for much of the circumference and consists of a basal course of large grounders and up to two courses of masonry. In the interior there are the remains of three drystone huts.
