hallsifer visited on 30th May 2023 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 4 Massive stone cross with very faint carvings across the front and back. The church guide pamphlet puts it's height at 17'6" with 7ft still underground, as well as calling it the tallest of it's kind in Cornwall. It has a very faint carving at the top of three concentric circles and on the other side in a similar spot is a spiral.

Ancient Cross in Cornwall

There is quite a fine cross in the churchyard at St Mylor.
There were renovations during the 19th century and a granite post which had been used as a flying buttress against the south wall, was removed. On clearing away the earth, a 17 foot cross was discovered.
This cross is allegedly very old; local tradition believes it originally marked the grave of St Mylor. It is now relocated in the churchyard.

Mylor looks like a lovely place and this cross proves that it is.

That is a very beautiful cross, is there a spiral carving on it? Are there any other carvings visible?

Yes, one side has a spiral carving just below the cross & the other has three concentric circles. There are faint outlines of other carvings but the lichen makes it hard to discern details.
