Knockdolian Cairn is located in South Ayrshire on the summit of Knockdollian Hill, c. 2 miles NE of Ballantrae. The summit is 265 metres (870 feet) above sea level. A round grassy cairn, measuring c. 10 yards in diameter and 4 feet high has been constructed on the summit plateau. There are visible medium sized stones on the N and W edges of the cairn, which may be original kerb stones. The surface of the cairn has an an irregular grass surface with underlying rocks. A modern OS trig point has been built on the centre of Knockdolian Cairn. The location of the cairn affords extensive 360° views, including Ailsa Craig to the NW.
