Cairn in Inverclyde

A Cairn in the Harelaw area of Devol Moor, in the West Renfrewshire Hills.

First documented during a walkover survey by "R. White" in 2005, he found a Cairn not far from the Harelaw Reservoir. It consists of a deposit of large cobbles, sub-square in plan and measuring about 3.4m x 1.8m, piled to a maximum height of 30cm above the surrounding ground (No excavation took place)

Situated about 190m above sea level, the Cairn is covered in turf and only a few of the stones are now visible. During a site visit by "Helena Gray" of 'CFA Archaeology' (University of Edinburgh) in Nov 2012, she described the Cairn as being relatively indistinct from the surface stones dotted about in the surrounding landscape.
