Borthwen Beach
Borthwen Beach submitted by raythemapman : Not easy to get to as you have to drive for 2 miles on single track roads they get very busy in spring and summer. When you get to the car park the Chamber is on the right in front of the large house 250m up the slope. My comments on this Site can be found at the bottom of this page. Borthwen Beach submitted by hoya105 : This is a folly - it was built by the family in the 1920s - when the house and gardens were laid out. We met a member of the family who was staying there and asked about it. It is still their holiday home...

I have it on authority that the "Cromlech" is in fact a Victorian Folly, built by members of the family who own the nearby house

I found this Cromlech impressive, but after measuring the stones and area around them I came to the conclusion that the site was made to measure.
Plus I dont think the structure would support the large amount of earth needed to cover it.
My conclusion is that it is more likely a 19th century Folly.
Ray.
