Remains of a cromlech largely destroyed in 1850 recently visited and photographed.

Chambered Tomb in Gwynedd Having spotted this tomb marked on the OS map, we included a look for it on a walk around the Llanbedrog area. The map isn't exactly clear as to its precise location. Combined with bracken being very high in the summer, it was a demanding search. Eventually I searched "coflein Mynydd Tir-y-Cwmwd" on the internet on my phone, which yielded an 8 digit grid reference. Then turning on the GPS unit, we carefully edged our eastings and northings to match the grid reference. After 15 minutes slowly picking our way through bracken, we came across the stone - exactly on the reference Coflein recorded. One very long stone, one end embedded in the ground / undergrowth still. Query 2 or 3 cupmarks upon it. Coflein entry here
