Standing Stone (Menhir) in Renfrewshire

This stone is featured on The Northern Antiquarian (TNA) - see their page for Boydstone Road, Eastwood, Glasgow, Renfrewshire. They give a brief archaeology and history of the stone, which was said to be about 12 feet long: "six feet of it in the ground and the other six feet above."

Canmore ID 44370 tells us in 1973, reported by H. Adamson, this stone was: "a single standing stone .... removed in advance of road widening. The straight-sided block had its base set on yellow sandstone. Immediately above the bedrock small stones and earth had been packed against the W and N faces of the standing stone. On top of the packing were two boulders set at right angles to wedge the sides of the stone. No burials or cremations were found."

Note: Do you have any further information about this stone? Do you have any photographs you could add?
