Standing Stone in Anglesey. Bryn Llwyd Standing Stone, Nr Burwen, Anglesey, at SH.414928. This prehistoric standing stone, probably from the Bronze Age, stands close to a country lane S of the B5025 and about 1.5km W of the town of Amlwch.

Access: Along A5025 from Cemaes towards Amlwch, turn right, and the stone is in a field on the right, opposite some large white buildings.

Sunny100 adds: It stands on private land belonging to Werthyr Farm [permission should be sought]

The massive menhir stands on a flat topped hill. There was, apparently, once another stone here and together they may have formed what was part of a chambered tomb. But any trace of this has long since gone - the other stones having been robbed away.

Werthyr submitted by pab : Site in Anglesey (Sir Ynys Mon) > As with several local sites, no-one was available to ask permission to get much closer, but worth a brief halt to look! Several packing stones are vis... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Werthyr submitted by Postman : It's been suggested that this is the last stone left from a burial chamber but I reckon it's just a stone, if a standing stone can be just a stone.

Werthyr submitted by raythemapman : 800 yards SW of this stone at Grid ref SH375782 there is remains of an Iron Age Earthwork, only about 50yds of the northern rampart are visible. Time team have made a programme about this site, and found Roman coins and the burial of a child in the centre of the site believed to be Neolithic. I have based my plan of the site on information from the Time Team web site, Coflein and aerial photos. ...

I could not actually figure out how to get near this stone, so the best I could do was a relatively distant photo from the roadside.
