Porth Newydd submitted by pab : The natural erratic at Porth Newydd near Fynnon Eilian, looking eastwards towards Point Lynas. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Natural Stone in Anglesey (Sir Ynys Mon).
Just to the west of St Eilian's Well (Fynnon Eilian), this rock just does not look right!

It is difficult to work out what the natural forces were which left this stone in this position as its lines and contours do not match those of the rocks on which it is perched.
It is unlikely that there were human forces helping, so that presumably makes it a Natural Erratic?
Or does it have to be a totally different geological type from its neighbours to merit the term? Close ups available if needed....

Porth Newydd submitted by cactus_chris : These carvings were found near the site of the Erratic Rock. Andy has suggested uploading images to see if people can work out what they are. I cannot find any information out about them.
