Mesolithic shell middens at the south end of Westward Ho! Beach near Bideford, Devon. The midden and preserved tree stumps were visible at an extremely low spring tide in 1988-89. Hazel nutshell and struck flints were seen eroding from the peat and clay deposits. No evidence of the middens remains today.
