Sidhean Mor Dail A' Chaorainn
Sidhean Mor Dail A' Chaorainn submitted by Megalithicmatt : The circular enclosure on top. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Palisaded enclosure in Highlands

The enclosure sits on a prominent glacial mound in the valley between Creag nan Abhag and Creag an Lòin in Glen Banchor. Three sides are very steep with the fourth a bit more gentle. The views of Glen Banchor and Speyside are quite spectacular from the top.

A smaller knoll rises up on the west side; from here, looking east at the main hill, part of the enclosure can be seen at the flattened top. On the top itself, the only obvious sign of construction is a ring enclosure feature 5m in diameter.

Canmore site no. 13072
