A standing stone in Gwynedd that was present on the old 6 inch map and now sadly gone. However David Hoyle has computed a simulation of the sunrise at the summer solstice from this location, pictured. Fron Newydd Stone
Fron Newydd Stone submitted by DavidHoyle : View towards cadair summit in the distance from the approximate location of where the stone was. The midsummer solstice rise would have just peeped out to the left/north of cadair, then set again and then risen from the summit. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Fron Newydd Stone
Fron Newydd Stone submitted by DavidHoyle : Local farmer confirmed that the stone was moved from the original position to form a gatepost by his grandfather. Not really sure of the date as the farmer is 84 and it was moved a long time ago, probably early to mid 20c. At least the stone is confirmed and original although a short distance from where it originally stood. (Vote or comment on this photo)

The field where this stone was located is called "Cae Garreg" or Stone Field in English.

I've been doing a bit of digging and there is an interesting gatepost at the corner of the field. One gatepost is concrete and the other looks rather older so maybe they moved the stone to be a gatepost mid 20C sometime.
