Sling (Llandegai) submitted by TimPrevett : In a field adjoining the Sling chamber, there is a hitherto recorded mound of apparent cairn material, with what seems to be a large capstone. You're thinking what I'm thiking... well, watch this space. I have been in touch with some folk in the know who feel this might be something of note... here's hoping. (1 comment)

My notes from Sept 2016.
Having found where it was marked on the map, but it’s not at all clear exactly where it is. After lots of fruitless wandering up and down the various lanes, I get the new Megalithic Portal app running on my phone, and it tells me it has an accuracy rating of 4, with a 4 figure grid ref, so that should get me to within 10 metres of it. This of course requires getting over a barbed wire fence and thorny hedge, but I eventually find a path round, but after a lot more fruitless searching I cannot find it. Looking at the picture of it, it can only be very well buried under some very dense undergrowth, or the given position is wrong. After well over half an hour I give up.

Many thanks to ShropshireTraveller for the photo with telegraph pole - would have been very difficult to find otherwise! Encountered the owner of the field who was understandably wary of visitors entering his field which currently (6/11) has a mare and young foal in it, but perfectly happy once he knew it was the archaeology I was interested in.
