Cairn in Stirling
The Northern Antiquarian (TNA) feature this site - see their entry for King’s Yett, St. Ninians, Stirlingshire. TNA give precise details for finding this cairn, together with photographs and a brief archaeology & history.
The cairn is also recorded as Canmore ID 45951, the 1954 entry of which reads: "A cairn is situated on open moorland, 1/4 mile W of King's Yett. It consists of a grass-covered, stony mound c.30' in diameter and 4'6" high. A rectangular boulder which lies in the S arc of the base of the cairn, and which appears to be in situ, may have formed part of a peristalith." The most recent entry, from 1978 says the cairn measures about 12 metres in diameter and is 1.7 metres high.
TNA add that the cairn has yet to be excavated, but has all the hallmarks of being a Bronze Age structure.
