The Santa Cruz Museum is located in the wonderful 16th century Santa Cruz hospital, in the beautiful World Heritage city of Toledo.

Apart from the lovely architecture of the building itself, with its cloisters, coffered ceilings, palatial staircases etc, the museum is home to many works of art, including a large collection of El Greco. It also hosts temporary exhibitions, which when I visited in May 2007 was a tremendous display of Visigoth treasures, including many golden crowns etc.

But the museum also houses an archaeological collection, amongst which is a couple of menhirs taken from outside a nearby dolmen, which have serpent shaped carvings on them.

The museum is located just off the Plaza Zocodover, downhill to the east through the arch and stairs. It was free entry when I visited, but I dont think this is always the case.
