A truly massive pile of stones (pictured right in the top photo) - the remains of what is thought to be a burial cairn from probably the Bronze Age. Situated on the ridge above Cwm Lloer. It is circular, measuring approx 20m in diameter and up to 3.5m in height. It has been disturbed in the past, with several drystone shelters constructed and a modern walker's cairn crowning the summit.

Source: CADW.

From National Trust Inventory to Carneddau Estate:
Its centre has been extensively disturbed and both hollowed out and built into a shelter, with a further cruder shelter constructed to the NE but still within the limits of the original cairn. Between the two shelters stones have been heaped up to form a small marker cairn. There is no good indication of any kerb to the overall structure but the plan is of a roughly circular cairn of piled stones set on what was probably already a fairly prominent outcrop. Diameter 26m 30m and about 3m 4m high. The larger of the shelters within is 5m x 4m. 960m above O.D.

Carnedd Fach
Carnedd Fach submitted by HarryTwenty : Looking across to Tryfan. The Adam and Eve stones can also be seen from around the area so if they were man made, as the Carnedd Fach cairn was, it produces a very impressive sight for anyone below (as well as keeping an eye on them if any ancestors were interred there). Carnedd Fach
Carnedd Fach submitted by HarryTwenty : Looking SW down at Carnedd Fach. It's a huge cairn and given its position right on the edge of Cwm LLoer it was meant to be seen - by the Gods in the peaks behind or the people below or both? (Vote or comment on this photo)

Carnedd Fach
Carnedd Fach submitted by HarryTwenty : Interesting marks on the stone at the bottom of the picture, could very well be glacier related but its position at the foot of the cairn is still interesting.

Carnedd Fach
Carnedd Fach submitted by HarryTwenty : Looks like small features on the ground at the top but natural as far as I know. The ridge up to Carnedd Dafydd is in the background, the lump you can see about halfway along it is the Carnedd Fach cairn. Looking northwards.

Carnedd Fach
Carnedd Fach submitted by HarryTwenty : Pen yr Ole Wen, the ridge to the cairns lies behind the summit. I came back down to the lake this side, a challenge but not to be recommended : D

Carnedd Fach
Carnedd Fach submitted by HarryTwenty : Looking westwards along the Ogwen valley. Tryfan is on the left with the Adam and Eve stones on its summit (visible from this spot) and Pen yr Ole Wen is on the right with Carnedd Fach and the Carnedd Dafydd cairns on higher ground behind it.
