Delamore House dolmen
Delamore House dolmen submitted by Andy B : This "Cromlech" was constructed to commemorate the Millennium. It stands in the Grounds of Delamore House. Although not open to the public they hold an annual sculpture Exhibition every summer. Picture taken May 2004. Copyright wnoble and licensed for reuse under the Creative Commons Licence. I came across this modern dolmen by accident when someone told me about Delamore House near Ivybridge. I see they have an open art exhibition there at the moment, if you're looking for somewhere to visit in Devon or Cornwall.

While checking out the website for the house (which uses the dolmen as a logo), I found a photo of it: http://www.delamore-art.co.uk/gardens.php

... and then found a link to this 'panoramio' page by Guy Fogwill of Kingsteignton:
http://www.panoramio.com/photo/106518610

Mr Fogwill describes the dolmen as being constructed for the Millennium. It reminds me of Spinsters Rock.

Quote from their website:

"Delamore Arts 2015 is now open to visitors...

The exhibition is open every day in May, 1030 to 1630. Fantastic art and sculpture in an amazing garden and house. This year also features a woodland musical art trail, and an animal themed exhibition in the new gallery at Delamore Park a short walk across the valley. Admission at £7.50 includes a superb catalogue and keepsake of the exhibition."

I imagine you'd get to see the dolmen during such a visit.

Being a little pedantic I know, but Delamore House and Ivybridge are in Devon not Cornwall. They are right on the edge of the southern tip of Dartmoor National Park . [Corrected - thanks - Admin]

Who put that up as Cornwall???? ;-)
Perhaps someone can alter Cornwook to Cornwood now, too? (Nearest village.) Just noticed someone is hedging their bets by adding to site description: ".. if you're looking for somewhere to visit in Devon or Cornwall.."

I originally changed it to 'somewhere to visit in Cornwall' as the newsletter went out after the Bank Holiday, but didn't notice it was just into Devon.
