Cist in Devon

This site is featured on the Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks website as the Roundhill Near Summit Cist.

Further information can also be found on the Pastscape website, see Monument Number 443241, which describes a cist and two possible stone rows, although in this record no details are given of the stone rows. The cist is "a slight mound, five yards across, with a few of its ringstones left, and in the centre a kistvean 9 feet 3 inches long, by 2 feet, by 2 feet. Long axis WNW and ESE. The north-west side slab in alignment. The displaced cover stone is 4 feet 6 inches wide by 3 feet 9 inches .... two stones of the retaining circle one showing above the turf, one on the north side and one on the east. Diameter of retaining circle is circa 5.0m. There are traces of a slight mound around the cist but it has been partly despoiled by adjacent turf-cutting."

The cist is also recorded as MDV6217 (Cist in the parish of Dartmoor Forest) on the Devon and DartmoorHER.

The Portal has a site record for the Roundhill Alignment/Stone Row, posted back in 2002, but has no further details. Would you be able to help with information?
