The Necrópolis Megalítica del Pantano de los Bermejales (Megalithic Necropolis of the Bermejales Swamp) has five cores with a group of twenty monuments. It is told that about half of them are preserved. They are situated on hills arranged on the sides of the Río Cacín, north of the Bermejales Reservoir, in the province of Granada.
The groups are: Cortijo del Cura, Cortijo de Bartolo, Cortijo de Liñán, Cortijo de los Vínculos and Cortijo de la Navilla. With very varied shapes, although cists and chambers without a rectangular corridor predominate.
The megaliths of the Bermejales Swamp are dated between the Neolithic and the Bronze Age, built with different types of stone.
Like all other megaliths in this area, grave number 1 of the necropolis was discovered in the 1960s, due to the low level of the swamp water. It is also known as Sepulcro del Cortijo de Liñán, because it is situated on the grounds of the farm with that name. The grave is trapezoidal. It is 3.75 m long, with a maximum width of 1.30 m. The chamber is 2.00 m long and consists of 11 stones. Two of them are shared with the corridor, which has 6 more stones.
After being investigated the dolmen was covered again, to preserve the interior, waiting for new excavations in the future.
