Holy Well or Sacred Spring in West Glamorgan

Behind the church dedicated to St Ciwg (hence Llangiwg) there is a well which has been restored in recent years. Given that Ciwg set up a cell here in the fifth century CE it is possible that the well may predate his arrival. The site is on the crown of a hill from which can be seen to the SW Mynydd Carn Llechart, SE Mynydd Drumau (Carreg Bica) - hence suspicion of pre-Christianity. Church is pre-Norman in parts.

St Ciwg's Church: Coflein site no. 96095
