Early Christian Sculptured Stone in Conwy

This early medieval church is recorded as Coflein NPRN 43767, which mentions: "the roof was once painted red and sprinkled with white stars".

The Journal of Antiquities includes an entry for this church within its page for the nearby Caerhun Roman Fort, Caernarvonshire, of which not much survives. The JoA tells us: "Outside, a small square-shaped medieval stone showing Christ crucified is built into the wall. Some of the stones from the Roman fort are incorporated into the walls of the church".

Whilst there is no specific mention of this stone, there is a digital image of this sculptured stone in the Coflein record.
