Hillfort in Gwynedd
This hill fort is positioned on a high Rocky outcrop with commanding views of the uplands and valleys to the east of Llanfachreth. There are also magnificent views of the southern and mid Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains.

Permission is required from the local farm to access the site.

The hill fort is defensibly well positioned with a steep cliff face to the north and east, and sloping ground to the south and west. The stone walls have mainly fallen away but they are still apparent to the West and east. This is not a large defended enclosure measuring 43m long by 30m wide.

The fort is currently defended by a herd of alpacas.

This was featured by Gwynedd Archaeological Trust on Facebook today, with a nice aerial view. GAT have a "Hillfort Wednesday" feature which is one of the few things I follow.
