Alabum is a Fort on the Roman Road from Carmarthen to Castell Collen. Modern development has made it difficult to see the shape of the site when you on the ground but is clearer from study of the OS Map.

Basically the site is a rectangular space 500' by 420', set on an escarpment. Unfortunately, this simple picture is complicated by a modern lane (the old Roman Road), the ancient Parish Church and a small water treatment installation. So on the ground it is experienced as two separate, unconnected sites.

Considerable detail of the site is given in Archwilio and Coflein.
