Cairn in Gwynedd

The cairn's locality can be reached by car along the narrow gated road that runs from Bronaber, off the A470 to Llanuwchllyn. Situated on a saddle between two promontories and approximately 100m north of the road, reaching the cairn can be a bit of a trudge. However, this is an impressively scenic environment and well worth a visit.

The cairn is quite small at 4.4m in diameter. It is raised to about 0.60m but could easily be hidden by the marsh grasses in the warmer months. The cairn is circular in shape and there are no signs of disturbance so there's a possibility of an intact burial or ritual deposits NB: the cairn is situated atop a peat moor which may contain dating evidence.

There are extensive views of the valley floor and the surrounding mountains.
