Standing Stone (Menhir) in West Lothian

This standing stone is recorded as Canmore ID 100105, which has basic details: "A standing stone is shown on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map, (Linlithgowshire, 1854-5), sheet VIII just N of a small copse to the SW of Nether Hillhouse farm (formerly East Hillhouse)."

This standing stone, now fallen, is also featured on the Ancient Stones: A Guide to Standing Stones and Stone Circles in the South of Scotland - see their entry for Standing Stone, Hillhouse, Torphichen, which includes a description, directions for finding the stone with nearby parking, and fieldnotes. The Ancient Stones adds: "This small standing stone lies along the crest of a ridge, just above a small wooded area to the south west of Nether Hillhouse farm. The stone has been toppled and is partially buried in long grass and nettles making it difficult to find."
