Pen Pumlumon-Arwystli submitted by Postman : The three cairns on Pen Pumlumon-Arwystli (Vote or comment on this photo)
Cairn in Ceredigion

It's a really long walk no matter which way you come from, a long uncomfortable slog of a walk.
But the view is really quite splendid....for mid Wales.
But the three cairns are really very good.
The southern of the three cairns is 20m across and 2.5m tall, it has a crater in it, a hollowed out interior.
The central cairn, 23m across and almost 2m high. Of the three it has been the most disturbed, several windbreaks now reside among it's reaches. It's sprawled look resembles an octopus stranded on a very high tide.
The northern cairn is the most denuded, at 0.7m high it is mostly gone but apparently would have covered an area similar to its siblings.

Three good cairns high on a mountain, what could be better? Less to walk for a start.
