The original Abbey of Margam was founded in 1147 and this picture captures some of the Abbey remains. These ruins are part of the Margam Park country park, adjacent to the Museum. The Latin inscription says: BUDVOC. HIC IACIT/FILIUS CATOTIGIRNI/PRONEPVS ETERNALI/VENDOMAV and when translated 'The Stone of Budvoc.
