Multiple Stone Rows in Highland, thirteen in total

The stone rows lead up the east facing slope of a pronounced knoll which effectively controls and then conceals views towards the nearby sea.

Occasional stones protrude through the vegetation indicating the position of the stone rows. The shape of the stones varies considerably.

Update August 2019: This stone row is featured on the Stone Rows of Great Britain website - see their entry for Creag Bhreac Mhor (Upper Dounreay I), which includes a description, photographs and a simplified plan of the stone row and its associated cairns. The SRoGB also includes a discussion on the sea views which become visible as you walk along the row: Sea Views at Creag Bhreac Mhor (Upper Dounreay I).

More information can be found on Canmore ID 7898, which adds: "The thirteen rows of stones in this monument appear to radiate generally to the ESE from a group of four stones. These are arranged in an irregular square 4ft wide, and are between 1ft and 1ft 2ins long and the same in height above ground … The stone rows, in a hollow on undulating moorland, have been considerably obscured by peat and heather growth since the visit of the RCAHMS (in 1964), and only about six rows (less than half of the stones) ... can be traced".
