Cairn in Conwy

Situated approximately 120m NW of the Moel Rhiwlug summit (433m) the cairn lies in dense overgrowth of heather and grasses. The cairn presents as a low ring of stones approximately 5m in diameter, but its size may be contestable given it's location on a rocky terrace and completely covered by overgrowth. However, given its location a clearance cairn is unlikely.

The cairn can be reached by following the Hiraethog Trail that leads north towards Llyn Alwen from Pentrefoelas village. The terrain is challenging and it is not an easy cairn to reach or find, but the environment along the trail has abundant evidence of prehistoric activity that may be more accessible. .
