Withypool Hill Barrow
Withypool Hill Barrow submitted by thecaptain : This is large 25 metre diameter round barrow on the top of Withypool Hill. There are magnificent views all around from up here on top of this hill, with many other Exmoor Peaks topped by their own barrows to be seen. This is a lovely place to see the sun go down. This is large 25 metre diameter round barrow on the top of Withypool Hill. It’s been much dug about in the middle but is still well over a metre high. The outside circumference is still in very good condition, and almost looks like it had a ditch and outer bank around it originally.

Several large stones are to be seen within the barrow, which look like they may once have made some sort of structure, but its difficult to tell after so many alterations.

To get to the hill, park by the cattle grid to the east of the hill and walk along the well used track for half a mile, and then follow paths to the north towards the top of the hill. There are magnificent views all around from up here on top of this hill, with many other Exmoor Peaks topped by their own barrows to be seen. This is a lovely place to see the sun go down.

Withypool Hill Barrow
Withypool Hill Barrow submitted by mattimpey : The 20-25 metre diameter round barrow on the top of Withypool Hill. With the amount of availible loose stones on the Moor, the little Cairn in the Barrow looks a little added to. (Vote or comment on this photo)
