Lacra Avenue (I)
Lacra Avenue (I) submitted by LivingRocks : The double stone row running ENE from Lacra D. (Vote or comment on this photo)
The stone row to the NE of Lacra D includes 10 stones running for approx. 46m in a ENE direction from the circle.

Update October 2019: This alignment is featured on the Stone Rows of Great Britain website - see their entry for Lacra, North East, which includes a description, a plan of the Lacra stone rows and their associated stone circle, photographs of the row (showing its context within the landscape) and of the individual stones, access information and a list of online resources for more information.

The SRoGB also includes a section for a 'Sea View Reveal' which illustrates how a view of the sea is visible from the entire length of the row, but a view of the sea to the north east "only appears at the point where the row terminates".

The SRoGB adds: "The row appears on the top of the near ridge viewed from the lower end of Lacra SW, with the end of the row in a prominent position on the skyline. This sort of visual relationship is likely to have been of significance to the row builders".

The row is also scheduled as part of Historic England List Entry No. 1009111 (Two stone circles, a stone avenue and a stone alignment at Great Knott, Lacra) and recorded as part of Pastscape Monument No. 37286.
