Standing Stone (Menhir) in Wales. The earliest church was probably pre-Norman and there is evidence that suggests the site may well have been a pre-Christian centre; A circle of yews, one of which has a roughly shaped stone embedded in its trunk, and the 'camp' crowned by a single tree to the west of the church.

Llanfihangel Nant Melan submitted by Antonine : There is a local legend that the last Welsh Dragon lies asleep deep in Radnor Forest and that long ago the people of this area built four churches in a circle around the forest. These were dedicated to St Michael, the conqueror of the dragon, to make sure he does not escape.
