SteCymru14 visited on 1st Feb 2019 - their rating: Cond: 4 Amb: 4 Access: 5 I had, for some reason, been reluctant to even visit the site as I’d heard the stone was no longer in situ and, even though I was brought up in the village next door, I had never gone to check it out. While in the village promoting my upcoming free Welsh lessons I thought I’d pop and take a look and was pleasantly surprised to see the stone in a small field at the top of the village. Impressive standing stone - almost as wide as it is tall - imposing itself on its surroundings. The style gave easy access from the road but it was easily seen from my car. The name translates as ‘the stone [of the] slab’ but ‘llech’ can also suggest ‘slate’ - probably from Greek origins > ‘-lith’ etc. Werth ymweld â hon.

An Impressive standing stone in Flintshire (Sir y Fflint) - almost as wide as it is tall - imposing itself on its surroundings. The stile gives easy access from the road but it is easily seen from the car. The name translates as ‘the stone [of the] slab’ but ‘llech’ can also suggest ‘slate’ - probably from Greek origins > ‘-lith’ etc. Well worth visiting (Werth ymweld â hon.)

A standing stone of sandstone, 1.8 Meters high by 1.9 meters by 0.4 Meters.
