Heathwaite How
Heathwaite How submitted by MonumentMan : Boulders forming an arc to the southern side of the potential circle. The site was observed to have a good Eastern aspect overlooking Coniston Water and the fells beyond. Banishead Circle has a similar aspect East but is further up-valley near the mire. Possible Stone Circle in Cumbria

This potential stone circle was spotted on a visit to the nearby Banishead Stone Circle, some 200m to its NNW.

Not recorded on either Pastscape or Historic England, this site is situated on a natural mound above Coniston Water. The small boulder stones (0.5-1.5m) appear to be spaced regularly around the mound in a circle. A large stone is set to rear of circle like at Banishead, and three boulders lie in the centre. The potential circle is wide at 45m diameter.

If anyone else has visited this site, or has any further information, I'd be pleased for any comments, thoughts or observations. Please post a comment below. Thank you.
