Modern sculpture in Cumbria. A collection of six circular stone pillars of different sizes, Stone Forest by Kimio Tsuchiya was commissioned for the Grizedale Forest Sculpture park in 1992.

Also nearby in the sculpture park is a large cairn like circular stack of stones by another Japanese artist, Shigeo Toya.

Grizedale Forest is home to the largest collection of site-specific art in the environment in the the UK. The forest holds around 50 permanently sited artworks created by leading international artists in response to the landscape. Created over the past 30 years Grizedale Sculpture was the first collection of its kind in the UK. Artists continue to respond to the unique forest environment, creating site specific work in a continually changing landscape.
