Erratic Stone in Cumbria
Fairy Stone (Humphrey Head) is a large erratic boulder perched on a steep cliff on Humphrey Head shoreline. As with several nearby locations (Fairy Cave and Fairy Chapel) the Fairies are given credit for this geological curiosity. It is accessible at low tide by a c. 0.5 mile walk along Humphrey Head beach.

Directions: Halfway between Flookburgh and Grange-Over-Sands there is a minor road off the B5277 signposted for Humphrey Head. It is a narrow lane with few passing places. Cross the railway and bear L at the next fork onto Holy Well Lane. This road concludes at a rough car park at the foot of Humphrey Head.
