Now re-open - the McManus, Dundee's Art Gallery and Museum - a Gothic Revival-style building with a collection of fine and decorative art as well as a natural history collection. It also contains collections of Neolithic, Bronze Age and Pictish items. We have a taster of what you can expect to see.

Found at Castle Huntley, Longforgan, Perthshire. 2 = Bronze Age food vessel dated to between 3300 and 3600 years before present. Found at one of 12 cists at Stannergate, Dundee along with the skeletons of 12 individuals. Photographed in September 2012.

Some 425 of these carved stone balls have been found in Scotland and are tentatively dated to the Early Bronze Age around 3500 to 5500 years ago. Their use is enigmatic. Similar stones have been found in other parts of the British Isles. September 2012.

Some 425 of these carved stone balls have been found in Scotland and are tentatively dated to the Early Bronze Age around 3500 to 5500 years ago. Their use is enigmatic. Similar stones have been found in other parts of the British Isles. September 2012.
