Sizergh Fell Stone Circle submitted by Adamibbo789 : The supposed stones of the alleged circle. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Stone Circle in Cumbria. A possible stone circle listed on the National Trust Heritage Map. Only four stones remain of this supposed stone circle, each of a strata non-local to the area.

It appears the site is more of a stone row than a circle, and the monument sits on uneven ground - so it is possible that these are simply glacial erratics. However, they are easily the most conspicuous features in the large field they occupy, and certainly deserve further research.

Sizergh Fell Stone Circle
Sizergh Fell Stone Circle submitted by Adamibbo789 : A birds-eye diagram of the 'circle'. To my eyes there appeared to be a small burial cairn at its center. This would be a typical plan for small upland stone circles, especially near the coast. This would see the eastern stone as an outlier - likely moved to make way for the wall / gate. Given the line the three north stones creates, we wouldn't expect a return on the south stone. (Vote or comment on this photo)
