Image Wood at NO524990 in Aberdeenshire is within walking distance of the centre of Aboyne. Follow the lane up past the cemetery and when you've crossed the stream follow the path off to the left.

Burl in his Guide to Stone Circles seems to have some doubt as to its authenticity and with it being elliptical in shape with the tallest stones on the North side one can see why.

What a lovely wooded setting this appears to be; one can not help but be reminded of Doll Tor Circle in Derbyshire. Or are the appearances deceptive?
