Glastonbury Tor milestone at Wells
Glastonbury Tor milestone at Wells submitted by AngieLake : The stone's position in relation to the Bishops Palace at Wells. Early evening, late May 2013. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Walking around the moated Bishops Palace at Wells in Somerset I saw this gorgeous modern stone which seemed to be marking the mileage to Glastonbury.

While Marion Benham posted a similar stone on the Glastonbury Tor site page some time ago, and it had the same kind of metal insert with sweeping arches (like those inside Wells Cathedral) and a little bell - which I'd not noticed while taking the photos!) She described that one as a millennium stone, one of a few scattered around in Somerset.

It looked good in the early evening sunshine. Just up the road, to the approx west, was a large old barn (the Bishops or Abbots Tithe Barn?)
