I have visited· I would like to visit

Marko visited on 9th May 2015 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 3 Visited as part of walk around the Clee Hills. Amazing views - you can see why the hillfort was built here. Shame that the rampart has been quarried into, but it was still good to visit a hillfort that's not covered by trees!

A small hillfort but with well preserved banks and ditches and in a fantastic and beautiful setting make this a very worthwhile visit. Top photo: An orthomosaic of over 500 drone photos taken over Nordy Bank in late autumn 2019. Flights undertaken with permission from the parish Council.

Not far away but less well preserved are Clee Burf and Titterstone Clee hillforts which has remains of cairns.

Nordy Bank
Nordy Bank submitted by TimPrevett : Towards the end of my visit here, three men arrived and spent considerable time debating and pointing upon the NW rampart; they were there so long I had to grab a photo to help put the sense of scale to the place. (1 comment - Vote or comment on this photo)

Nordy Bank
Nordy Bank submitted by TimPrevett : This clearly shows the damage caused by quarrying to the rampart to the west. This is *not* an original entrance. There is only one - in the NE. A beautiful part of the world, looking lush and verdant in early May. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Nordy Bank
Nordy Bank submitted by TimPrevett : Parking for Nordy Bank is just beneath its western side, with a short sharp climb to its west, or a slightly longer easier walk to the north side. This is the view approaching from the west. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Nordy Bank
Nordy Bank submitted by TimPrevett : This is the only original entrance at Nordy Bank, in the NE corner, and is slightly inturned, typical of many hillforts. All other gaps in the single rampart are the results of extractive industries which has heavily scarred this area, and nearly completely destroyed Nordy Bank's nearest neighbours - Abdon Burf & Clee Burf hillforts. Abdon Burf is mounted here by these two masts.
