Hillfort in Shropshire.
An Iron Age hillfort on high ground above Easthope in Shropshire.

The entire site is now wooded and is pretty difficult going due to all the brambles and thick bracken. Follow the footpath from Easthope, the shape of the fort is clearly visible from the field next to the church, cross a small stream and climb steeply up to the woods. There are a number of ill defined paths, many of which just vanish in the dense undergrowth, that seem to be more connected with gamekeeping activities, but keep climbing and you will eventually be rewarded when you come across the earthworks at the top. There are in places three tiered ramparts of ditches and banks although in other places it is hard to discern any earthworks.
