Long Stone, Staunton
Long Stone, Staunton submitted by TheCaptain : I visited this stone in November 2006. The stone was more readily visible than before, although the undergrowth was starting to return. (Vote or comment on this photo)
This Stone stands by the side of the A4136 about 1 mile from Staunton in the direction of Christchurch. It stands proudly amongst the trees and bushes alone of its kind in this area, although there is a Long Stone near Symonds Yat I believe.

It is said that if you prick this stone at midnight it bleeds.

Long Stone, Staunton submitted by Energyman : A Lidar image at 2m accuracy, of the area surrounding the Longstone. The area covered is 4.8k by 3k. (N uppermost). The Longstone is central. Lidar strips away the trees, houses and so on to reveal incredible underlying detail. I have added a hillshade analysis here.

The Long Stone at Symonds Yat (mentioned in the description by hamish) is a natural limestone pinnacle just SW of Symonds Yat Promontory Hillfort and is a tough climb even for seasoned climbers - not for the faint hearted! The well-known route is called Vertigo (which says it all!) - there are however a number of caves in the area worth a visit.
