Cave or Rock Shelter in Gloucestershire

From Pastscape:

"Cave at Coldwell Rocks, investigated in 1995 as part of the Wye Valley Caves Project. The cave is located about 50 metres above the valley floor, and has a west-facing entrance and a relatively small exterior platform. A small test trench in the cave entrance located traces of a previous, unrecorded excavation. Finds suggested Iron Age activity, and included large potsherds plus cut-marked animal bones. This represents the first definite evidence for Iron Age use of caves in this area of the Wye Valley. No earlier archaeological deposits were noted. As part of the Wye Valley Caves project, this and other caves have been surveyed by RCHME and RCAHMW."

"A cave at Coldwell Rocks, investigated in 1995 as part of the Wye Valley Caves Project. Excavations recovered a long environmental sequence with a thick tufa deposit overlying cave earth sediments. Both large and small mammal remains were recovered, but the site was archaeologically sterile. Survey of the caves in the area has been undertaken by RCHME and RCAHMW."
