Ellerdine Heath
Ellerdine Heath submitted by TimPrevett : This stone, maybe post mediaeval but not certain, is documented in a photograph between 1931 and 1934, with its last entry on the SMR in Septmeber 1975. A visit on 9th October 2005 yielded nothing. A thorough search of the field and boundaries, to the left of the road behind this signpost (used this photo as point of reference for anyone else checking), was unsuccessful. Thanks. It appears now to be in front of the village hall (instead of behind). But not yet showing on Street View:

Nearly got it tonight! Ellerdine Village Hall is not at Ellerdine or Ellerdine Heath, but more like a place called Heath Lanes on the OS map. Didn't get to see the stone, but will make enquiries with the house next time I go past.

The village hall in Ellerdine is in the village of Ellerdine. It is clearly signposted from the A442 at the 'T' junction next to Nobridge Nursery.

The stone is at the back of the village hall in a small fenced off area and has much overgrown vegetation around it. If you park in the parking area to the North of the village hall you will see it.

Re: Ellerdine Heath by Anonymous on Friday, 23 March 2007
This stone was located at the point shown on your map until the field it stood in was acquired by a farmer 15yrs ago who decided to remove it. There was, apparently, uproar in Ellerdine Heath so it was agreed to relocate the stone by the village hall. This is where it lies to this day - in a fenced off garden to the side off the gravel car park at Ellerdine Village Hall (not Ellerdine Heath). The village hall is clearly signposted from all directions.
Hope you find this info useful

Went past today by 3/4 mile on the A442 but was unable to stop! grumble grumble. Anyway, also noted two stones right outside the Seven Stars at Cold Hatton Heath which I wanted to check out but could not.
