Natural Stone / Erratic / Other Natural Feature in Northumberland

A huge, natural, bedrock stone, weighing about 1400 tons.

The England/Scotland border deviates slightly from its watershed line here, to go through the stone.

Its a long walk over rough ground.

Walking three times widdershins (anti-clockwise, looking from above) around the stone is variously said to be good or bad luck. Its hard to see why anyone would deliberately or accidentally walk around the Stone three times, to get bad luck, so perhaps its good luck.

It is not the Girdle Stone... the Girdle Stone is a different rock formation on the fells above Catcleugh reservoir.
