Re: Dungeon Hill by Anonymous on Friday, 04 December 2015
This univallate hillfort stands on an outcrop of upper greensand overlooking the Blackmore Vale and encloses an area of about 3.5 ha. It originally had a single, simple entrance at the southern end: two further entrances on the east and west pass under the tree-lined rampart through brick arches probably of Victorian origin. The land is in private ownership though a footpath passes close by its eastern side.
