May Hill
May Hill submitted by camperman : The bank and ditch visible from this aerial view from the north east. (Vote or comment on this photo)
The hill includes a circular trench 100 metres in diameter said to be an Iron Age earthwork, surrounding a mound that is probably a round barrow. The hill is made distinctive by a clump of trees on its top and is visible for miles around and from many hill forts in the area.

May Hill
May Hill submitted by camperman : The shallow bank and ditch which surrounds the summit of May Hill. Too small to be defensive, but with the barrow within the trees this may have been an enclosure for religious reasons being visible for miles around in all directions. Re: May Hill by Anonymous on Friday, 20 April 2018
every year people get up at dawn, climb the hill and dance around the circle for the May Day sunrise, how far back does this tradition go?
